Utah Intercollegiate Legislature

UIL DraftUtah Campus Compact, the Political Institutes and Centers, and interested faculty/staff at several UCC member institutions have launched an Intercollegiate Legislature that brings together a consortia of undergraduate student delegations from all interested Utah college campuses in a simulated legislative body to debate and grapple with current and pressing policy issues in their communities, regionally, and throughout the state of Utah. UIL will provide more than a simulated experience. It is a unique and high-impact educational opportunity that allows students from across the state to build important civic skills and gain a hands on understanding of the legislative process. We recognize that this is a significant and meaningful student leadership and skill development opportunity for students, therefore, the Assembly itself elects officers and works with the UIL Steering Committee to select student leaders for additional positions for the Governing Council.
